The Notch Meetings
In 2007 we began holding yearly meetings on the biology of the Notch signaling pathway, a cell communication mechanism that governs fundamental aspects of biology and is implicated in many different diseases. Notch signalling is involved in numerous processes during development, homeostasis, and disease. The breadth, complexity, and variety of processes that involve Notch signalling have significantly expanded in recent years. Novel findings at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organismal levels provide new understanding of these processes. Notch biology has become a large field in which many tens if not hundreds of laboratories all over the world are working.
These meetings, are held in Athens every two years and are organized with the help of international organizing committees whose members are leading scientists in the field, have become and continue to be central to the field.
